FAQ

Question:  Some of the edges on my knit garment aren't serged.  Won't they ravel?

Answer:  Knit fabrics do not ravel, so sometimes we do not serge the edges on hems or on nursing openings so you can clip the openings to suit your height and comfort.

Question:  Do you have a lay-a-way program?

Answer:  Yes, if you wish to put something on lay-a-way from our site, the conditions are easy. There is a $5 setup service charge with a minimum down payment of 10% or $10 (whichever is more). You then have up to 12 weeks to complete your total payment. You should pay 35% every month until the total payment is met. If you decide to cancel your layaway program, we charge a $5 cancellation fee.  To begin the lay-a-way program, place your order online and when checking out, choose other payment option, & mail payment. After your order is completed, please email us with a request to put the items on lay-a-way.

 Question:  My skirt waistband elastic is twisting.  How can I get it to untwist?

Answer:  Pull the waistband and work with it a little and it should untwist with no problem.  If you want to keep it from untwisting, and you are pretty sure you won't want to adjust the elastic size, you can stitch at the seams through the entire fabric/elastic layer.

Question:  I'm not sure if I fit into a particular size on the chart.  What do I do if something I order doesn't fit me.

Answer:  If you have any doubts whatsoever about fitting into a particular size, let us know and we'll come up with the perfect fit.  It might take a few emails, but that is better than something not fitting after it is made and shipped to you.  If you do have a problem with fit after you receive it, email us and we'll talk about a solution.

Question:  Can I send my order in the mail?

Answer:  Yes, you can.  You will go through the ordering process on the website and select check by mail for payment.  Your order will then be processed when we receive your check.  If you prefer to order from a brochure, email us for a mail-order brochure for the particular styles you are interested in.

Question:  How do I find the price for each item?

Answer:  Select your size in the drop-down list and the price will be listed right beside the size.

Question:  What is the difference between white broadcloth and white muslin? I'm trying to decide which one would be better for the Classic Blouse for Girls. I would prefer the one that would be thicker and need less ironing.

Answer: Broadcloth is considered a nicer fabric than muslin but is not as thick as muslin, at least our muslin anyway.  Our muslin is not very see-through, but our broadcloth is somewhat.  The muslin, however, is more wrinkly-but ours isn't too bad compared to some cheap kinds you get at the store.  For a dressy blouse, I'd go with the broadcloth--you have more color options too. 

I do have a comment about ironing and our cotton fabrics.  I've noticed that with our twills, muslin, and some of the thinner cottons that the first few times they do need some ironing, but after being washed and dried, they don't seem to wrinkle as much as at first.  To me, a few wrinkles to deal with more than compensate for the benefits of natural fiber fabric.

The custom sewing family business started back in 1987, and then we started doing business online via RinggerClothing.com in 2003.  The idea to provide custom modest clothing came to us after listening to friends and neighbors explain how hard it was for them to find what they wanted, in their size and at a reasonable price.  To summarize, we are interested in providing modest clothing for women and girls using high quality fabrics and using a combination of styles that are comfortable, classic, and/or traditional.  The business has grown steadily thanks to satisfied customers and independent contractors who help us fill orders.
